The Network Security Expert (NSE) program is a framework that guides you through 8 levels of training and assessment from entry to expert in the discipline of network security. The NSE Program is a key part of the FortiPartner Program, allowing you not only to validate your network security skills and experience, but also to leverage Fortinet’s full range of network security products. NSE is key to helping you accelerate sales and offer new services.

NSE 1 is the entry-level designation of the Fortinet Network Security Expert (NSE) program. In this course, you will learn about the cybersecurity threats that organizations are facing today. We refer to this ever-changing set of dangers as The Threat Landscape.

Course outline:

Lesson 1—Bad Actors

Meet the characters behind many of the cybersecurity attacks, learn what motivates them, and some of their methods.

Lesson 2—Data Security Perspectives

Understand the various attack methods employed by bad actors and learn best practices to protect yourself and reduce risk. In this lesson, you will learn important cybersecurity terms, common attack vectors used by bad actors, and the principal cause of computer and network breaches.

Lesson 3—Password Perspectives

In the Password Perspectives lesson, you will learn what constitutes a strong password, best practices for managing your passwords, multi-factor authentication, and the importance of backing up your data.

Lesson 4—Internet Threat Perspectives

In the Internet Threat Perspectives lesson, you learn about how new technologies have expanded the attack surface, the myriad of social engineering techniques employed by the bad actors, and best practices for keeping yourself safe while navigating the internet.

Lesson 5—Insider Threat Perspectives

In the Insider Threat Perspectives lesson, you will increase your physical security awareness in your work place.
